The Story Behind the Day
A few standout moments we had the chance to witness.
Rachel and Trevor’s early May wedding at The House on Barber Mill brought warmth, beauty and personality. From the string lights glowing in the reception space, the historic, restored home as a backdrop, and a couple who radiated joy and had spunk, this was the kind of wedding we'll be thinking about for a long time.
From the start, Rachel and Trevor set the tone for the day. They’re the kind of couple who are effortlessly comfortable in front of the camera, laid-back, adventurous, and fully present with each other. Every interaction with their family and friends showed how much they care about their people. They trusted their vendors to bring their vision to life, which meant we had the freedom to create something really special for them.
That vision came to life beautifully. The ceremony began beneath an old Magnolia tree, where they exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by their friends, families, and their sweet pup, Stevie. From there, guests flowed into a lively cocktail hour on the lawn, complete with yard games and drinks, before heading to the reception space tucked behind the house.
With less than two hours to work our magic, the Total Weddings team transformed the venue’s backyard into a glowing oasis. Think draped string lights, beautifully arranged tables with hues of blues and greens, and an atmosphere that felt both elevated and inviting. It was proof that you don’t need months of setup time to make something unforgettable, you just need a solid plan and a team who loves what they do.
One of the highlights of their wedding day was Rachel and Trevor's first dance. As the sun dipped low and the evening unfolded, Rachel and Trevor surprised their guests with a choreographed first dance. Executed flawlessly and full of romance, it was one of those moments where every guest could see their love radiating.
The entire night felt like a celebration not just of two people coming together, but of all the relationships that brought them there.
